September 24, 2026 — Autel U.S. has expanded bidirectional diagnostic and ADAS calibration access across Nissan’s supported North American CONSULT 4 vehicle lineup through new software updates for supported MaxiSYS Ultra and Ultra S2 diagnostic tablets.
Depending on the vehicle and system, available functions include ECU information, code reading and clearing, live data, Active Tests and ADAS calibration procedures.
The expanded capability uses AutoAuth, an independently operated service that authenticates shops, technicians and diagnostic tools for secure access to protected vehicle functions.
Autel demonstrated the technology during Auto Glass Week 2026 in San Antonio, Texas, where its ADAS team used the new MA800 mobile ADAS calibration system and a compatible diagnostic tablet to calibrate the ADAS on a 2026 Nissan Rogue.
“On newer Nissan platforms, security-gateway restrictions previously prevented aftermarket diagnostic tools from accessing certain protected functions,” said Vinie Putrino, senior testing specialist at Autel. “This expanded access gives Autel users the ability to perform supported diagnostic and calibration functions through the established AutoAuth authorization process.”
Access for Newer Nissan Platforms
Nissan began incorporating security-gateway protections into select North American vehicles with the 2020 model year. The technology restricts access to designated bidirectional functions unless the technician, shop and diagnostic tool are properly authenticated.
Autel has offered AutoAuth-based Nissan security-gateway access for applicable vehicles using Nissan’s CONSULT-III plus diagnostic platform for several years.
CONSULT 4, Nissan’s newer web-based diagnostic software, was introduced with the 2023 Nissan Ariya and is now used across a growing number of newer Nissan platforms. Autel says supporting protected functions on these vehicles required additional development and validation to establish an authorization process compatible with the newer electronic architectures.
Supported North American Nissan vehicles using CONSULT 4 include:
- 2023 and newer Nissan Ariya
- 2024 and newer Nissan Rogue
- 2025 and newer Nissan Kicks, Murano, Pathfinder and Armada
- 2026 and newer Nissan Sentra and Leaf
The company also demonstrated bidirectional diagnostic functions and ADAS calibration on a 2026 Nissan Rogue during Auto Glass Week.
The Nissan_ADAS V5.20 software release also adds ADAS calibration and wheel-alignment functions for 2024–2025 Infiniti QX80 models.
Available functions vary by vehicle, model year, trim, system and software configuration. Technicians should verify coverage for the specific vehicle and procedure before beginning service.
New MA800 Calibration System
Autel also showcased its new MA800 mobile ADAS calibration system during the demonstration.
Built on the MA600 platform, the MA800 combines dual-laser positioning, mirror alignment and independent pitch, roll and yaw adjustment to help technicians position calibration targets.
Integrated validation features allow technicians to check target height, target distance and vehicle-to-frame distance against applicable specifications before beginning a calibration.
Supporting ADAS Service
Late-model Nissan and Infiniti vehicles can incorporate forward- and rear-facing radar, cameras, Around View Monitor systems and other advanced driver-assistance technologies. Depending on the vehicle and manufacturer’s requirements, these systems may require calibration following windshield replacement, collision repairs, suspension or alignment work, component replacement or other service.
Autel says the expanded access provides qualified independent technicians with another option for performing supported diagnostic and ADAS calibration procedures on applicable Nissan vehicles.

Availability
The expanded capabilities are included in the Nissan_V7.40 diagnostic software and Nissan_ADAS V5.20 software releases issued Sept. 9, 2026.
Access requires an active Autel software subscription, an active AutoAuth account for Nissan access, and applicable Autel ADAS calibration software, equipment, targets and accessories when performing a calibration.
No separate AutoAuth service tier is required specifically for supported CONSULT 4 coverage. Eligible users can obtain the software releases through the standard update process on their Autel tablet.
