September 24, 2026 — Surventis Inc., formerly BASF Coatings Inc., has completed the legal name change of its Canadian entity as the company continues its transition to an independent global coatings business.
Effective Sept. 21, Surventis confirmed that BASF Coatings Inc. is now legally known as Surventis Inc. The company’s Windsor address remains unchanged at 845 Wyandotte St. W., Windsor, Ont.
The administrative change is part of the broader global transition of BASF Coatings into Surventis, which became an independent company on July 1 following the completion of the transaction between BASF and funds managed by global investment firm Carlyle. BASF retains a 40 per cent equity stake in Surventis.
According to the company, the Canadian name change does not affect its business operations or existing commercial relationships. The company’s tax/VAT information, bank account, ownership structure, legal representatives, registered capital, business scope, address, contact information and business team remain unchanged.
Surventis says the transition is designed to provide continuity for customers and business partners while establishing a new independent identity.
Globally, Surventis operates as a supplier of automotive coatings and surface treatment solutions, with approximately 10,700 employees, annual sales of about €3.9 billion and more than 42,000 customers. Its portfolio includes automotive OEM coatings, automotive refinish coatings and surface treatment technologies.
For the collision repair industry, the company continues to provide automotive refinish coatings, colour-management technology, digital workflow solutions and technical support. Its refinish portfolio includes brands such as R-M®, baslac®, NORBIN and LIMCO®, with LIMCO available in Canada.
Surventis also continues to support bodyshops through its Refinity® digital platform, which includes colour-management tools, digital business solutions and Body Shop BOOST, a platform designed to assess shop processes, equipment, staffing and performance metrics.
The company maintains Canadian operations in Windsor and Toronto, with additional Automotive Refinish Technologies locations in Belleville, Brantford, Laval, Québec City and Winnipeg.
Surventis describes the transition as a new chapter built on the technical expertise, customer relationships and brands developed under BASF Coatings, while allowing the business to operate with greater independence and entrepreneurial flexibility.
