CARSTAR Canada, the nation’s leading provider of premier collision repair services, is celebrating a significant milestone this year—30 years of business in Canada. Since its inception in 1989 by founder Lirel Holt, who envisioned a network of high-quality collision repair facilities, CARSTAR has grown into North America’s largest Multi-Shop Operator (MSO) network of independently owned collision repair facilities.
The journey of CARSTAR in Canada began in 1994 when it expanded into the country with the help of master franchisee Sam Mercanti. This expansion marked the beginning of a rapid growth phase, establishing CARSTAR as a cornerstone in the Canadian collision repair industry. Since then, CARSTAR has developed a nationwide network of auto body repair centres, renowned for their consistent service and integrity.
Beyond its commitment to quality collision repair, CARSTAR has been deeply invested in giving back to the communities it serves. Over the years, it has raised over $4 million for cystic fibrosis research and care. In a heartfelt initiative spanning more than two decades, CARSTAR made fighting cystic fibrosis its cause across North America, reinforcing its dedication to community welfare.
In December 2015, CARSTAR Automotive Inc. took a significant step forward by becoming part of Driven Brands, one of the largest automotive franchise organizations in North America.
As CARSTAR Canada celebrates this 30th anniversary, it is not just looking back at its achievements but also forward to the future. The company is excited to commemorate this milestone with special campaigns, consumer contests, and participation in various local events. One of the highlights of this year’s celebrations will be the annual CARSTAR conference, scheduled to take place in Victoria, B.C., from July 9-11, 2024.
