Global automaker plans to introduce its first vehicles in Canada in 2027
Oct. 9, 2026 —Geely Auto has officially announced its entry into the Canadian market, establishing a local operation ahead of the planned introduction of its first vehicles in Canada in 2027.
The company has assembled a Canadian team and is developing a retail and service network in preparation for the launch.
Geely Auto said its Canadian operation will draw on the company’s global capabilities in vehicle engineering, safety, electrification, intelligent technology and advanced manufacturing.
In 2025, Geely Auto Group sold more than 3.02 million vehicles worldwide, including nearly 1.69 million new energy vehicles. The company said its vehicles are currently sold in more than 100 countries and regions.
“Canada represents an important next step in Geely Auto’s international growth,” said Bryan Wu, managing director of Geely Auto Canada. “We are entering this market with a long-term commitment, bringing our global technology and engineering capabilities to Canadian drivers while building strong local partnerships and the support customers need to feel confident in choosing Geely.”
Wu said establishing trust with Canadian consumers will be a priority as the company builds its presence in the market.
Building a Canadian network
Geely Auto Canada is developing a local retail and service network with partners that have experience serving their communities and supporting vehicle owners.
The company said the network will be an important part of its Canadian operations, providing sales and service support as Geely vehicles enter the market.
Geely Auto said its global engineering and design operations include research and development, electrification, product development and next-generation technologies.
The company has not yet announced which vehicles will be introduced in Canada.
Geely Auto Canada said it will release additional information about its first Canadian models, retail and service locations, pricing and availability as it moves toward the 2027 commercial launch.
