The Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) has confirmed Jason McDaniel as its president and chief executive officer.

McDaniel had served as interim president and CEO since June 2025. He joined ICBC in 2006 and has held senior roles including vice-president of operations, chief legal officer and corporate secretary. ICBC’s board approved the appointment unanimously. During his tenure, McDaniel was involved in ICBC’s transition from a legal-based auto insurance system to the Enhanced Care model.

“Over the past six months, I’ve had the privilege of travelling across British Columbia to meet with customers, stakeholders and employees,” said Jason McDaniel. “Those conversations have been invaluable in helping me better understand the needs of the people we serve. I’m committed to keeping that momentum going and a big part of that is improving digital services. Our new customer portal, My ICBC, launches in the coming weeks and brings together 23 services in one convenient place. This is just the beginning of our work to deliver more accessible, customer-focused services, while keeping insurance affordable, roads safe and supporting priorities like sustainability and Reconciliation.”

ICBC is B.C.’s public auto insurer, providing basic auto insurance, driver licensing, vehicle registration and related services across the province. For more information, visit icbc.com.
