Remembering the Co-Founder of CARSTAR

Larry Jefferies, the co-founder of CARSTAR Canada, has died at the age of 80.

As co-founder of CARSTAR Canada, he played a pioneering role in transforming the Canadian collision repair industry. With a deep understanding of the business and a vision for collaboration, he helped build a national network that fostered cooperation, innovation, and shared success.

Respected across the country not just for his leadership, but for his integrity and his genuine desire to help others achieve their goals, Larry’s work touched countless people — colleagues, franchisees, and friends — who benefited from his mentorship, encouragement, and belief in the power of doing things the right way.

Friends and family are invited to Turner Family Funeral Home, 53 Main St., Dundas, Ont., on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, from 4–7 p.m. for a visitation, and Thursday, Nov.6, 2025, at 11 a.m. for the funeral service. Flowers or memorial donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre or Margaret’s Place Hospice are welcome.

While an Executive Vice President of CARSTAR Canada, Larry was a valued contributor to the Canadian Collision Industry Forum (CCIF), serving as chair twice, gathering and guiding professionals to advance the industry with inspired leadership.

Even after retiring from CARSTAR, he continued to give back through his work with Collision Builders, helping others navigate new chapters in their businesses with the same care and commitment he brought to everything he did.

Beyond work, Larry also found joy in giving his time to the community, serving as a director for the Burlington Millennium Orchestra and supporting causes close to his heart. And if given enough encouragement, he would entertain friends and family by playing the piano.

The husband of Janice for more than 59 years, Larry leaves behind his children Leanne, Robert, and Susie, and five grandchildren, having passed away peacefully on October 30.

Larry was the heart of his family — a man whose love, kindness, and steady presence shaped the lives of everyone around him. He shared a lifetime of laughter, adventure, and unwavering love with his wife Janice, his best friend and true partner in every sense. The two met as kids and grew up together, building a strong and enduring marriage rooted in friendship, mutual respect, and a shared sense of humour.
